Lightning Protection

Petro Min Engineers have recently been involved in the review of several installations for compliance with the standard on lightning protection.

These studies have included a review of an existing operating mine site and the design and engineering of lightning protection system/s for a large building in Wagin used for flaking and milling of oats destined for the cereal market.

All works done were in accordance with AS/NZS 1768 Lightning Protection and associated other Australian Standards.

Included within the reports are Lighting Protection Matrixes used to calculate risk assessment. This report provides an overview of the site lighting protection and notes any deficiencies noted for rectification works.

PME have done similar work for LPG storage facilities, explosives magazines, bulk fuel storage facilities, fuel dispensing stations and electrical substations.
