Garnet Mining Australia (GMA) – Port Gregory Harmonic Filters

Due to a large number of variable speed drives on the 415 Volts system and an inherently weak 33kV electrical supply system GMA have experienced power quality problem on the three separate MCC’s on their Port Gregory Site.

Following some extended data logging of the power quality, Petro min Engineers recommended the installation of two harmonic filters on MCC 01 and MCC 04 to significantly reduce the harmonic currents and consequently the harmonic voltages within the system.

The harmonic filters where supplied by Amp Control subsidiary Captech and installed on site by GMA.
