Petro Min Engineers have been engaged by EMR at their Golden Grove Mine Site for the engineering and design of a power factor correction project.
The work involves the installation of a stepped 5.75 MVAr capacitor bank at the main site 132kV to 11kV substation on the 11kV site main switchboard, and an additional 3.75 MVAr capacitor bank installed at their new 11kV Gossan Hill substation.
This project will bring the site up to the requirements of Western Power’s Technical Rules, provide some additional voltage stability and provide cost benefits in the reduction of power system losses.
Petro Min Engineers will be responsible for the power system modelling, the equipment specification, High Voltage submissions, detailed engineering and design of this project.
