PME have been awarded the detailed design for the relocation and control system upgrade for the Snowy Hydro power station relocation.
PME will act as a subcontractor for these works to Cummins South Pacific.
This is a relocation of the 28 MWatt power station from the Hunter Valley in NSW to Tailem Bend in South Australia. The station will connect into the new substation in Tailem bend at 33kV and will require a complete protection upgrade to the new National Electrical Rules.
Part of the scope is a control system upgrade to the same standard and level of control for recent works performed by PME for the Snowy Hydro projects at Port Stanvac, Lonsdale and Angaston power stations in conjunction with Cummins South Pacific.
