Petro Min Engineers have performed the electrical and controls design with Cummins Australia for their hybrid power station for EDL and the Agnew Gold Mine.
The $111.6m project is designed for hybrid operation and includes 18MW of wind turbines, 4MW of solar panels as well as 13MW/4MWh BESS and is expected to deliver up to 60% renewable energy into the mine site.
The power station generates baseload 11kV power for the mine using 16MW gas engines and 3.6MW of diesel-powered generator sets. The design includes several 11kV feeders into the mine distribution system.
