EMR has been experiencing voltage regulation and supply problems on their 11kV and 1kV underground feeders for the Gossan Hill Mine. Petro Min Engineers were engaged to perform a power system analysis and detailed engineering design to alleviate the voltage supply issues.
Following the report, a decision was made to install a three-phase Eaton voltage regulator system in the surface 11kV distribution network to resolve the voltage drop problems.
The system was packaged onto a skid off-site at Murray Engineering to enable transport to site with minimal site works required.
The design allows the package to be relocated to other points in the power system in the future as power needs change.
