Petro Min Engineers has performed the procurement, detailed design and engineering for EMR’s Southern Down Cast (SDC) cooling plant substation at their Golden Grove Mine. The substation provides 415 Volts power to their cooling plant for their underground mining operations.
The 415 Volts main switchboard also contains the hub for the optical fibre network and a Yokogawa PLC for the collection of data and control of the cooling plant.
The substation consists of a new 11kV ring main unit, 2500 kVA transformer and a new 415 Volts main switchboard.
The design works included the earth grid, civil works, foundations and fencing for the substation.
