Petro Min Engineers (PME) was contracted to design and engineer a new High Voltage substation for 29Metal’s Golden Grove Accommodation Village, replacing the aging infrastructure with a modern, reliable solution. The new 415V switchboard was designed in full compliance with Australian Standard AS 61439, ensuring safety, reliability, and long-term durability. To minimise disruptions, the switchboard layout was designed to align with the existing cabling, reducing the need for additional jointing and cable extensions.
As part of the project, the enclosure was designed to include full oil containment for the transformer within the enclosure. PME also conducted Arc Flash calculations and labeling for the 415V switchboard for full network compliance. This upgrade delivers a more efficient, compliant, and future-ready power distribution system for the Golden Grove Mine site.
